Inspired by change-makers who led Freedom Rides

Solidarity Ride: Convergence, Resurgence, Healing & Justice aims to be a beacon of hope, resilience, health, and solutions.

The film centers on voices from the Gulf South and Appalachia

The film highlights people who converged for the BLAC Policy Summit in Louisville, Kentucky, as well as for a back-to-school drive in Brazoria County, Texas.

This film doesn't just document environmental injustice — it uplifts narrative justice, ensuring that the voices of impacted communities are heard, valued, and amplified.

“Educating people on the environment is not just about polluted air or contaminated water; it's about addressing systemic inequality that places the heaviest burdens on those least equipped to bear them.

Low-income or vulnerable communities often live closest to highways, industrial plants, and waste facilities — not by choice, but because of decades of discriminatory policies and practices. These injustices are compounded by the fact that their stories are often ignored or erased from mainstream narratives.

Narrative justice seeks to mobilize voices and address this imbalance by giving these communities control over their stories. It ensures that their struggles, triumphs, and perspectives are represented authentically and powerfully. When we support narrative justice, we're not just supporting storytelling—we support agency, dignity, and the pursuit of truth.
From grassroots organizers demanding clean water to families reclaiming their right to breathe clean air, this film reminds us that these individuals are not victims but leaders in a justice movement.”

TESTIMONIAL

"It was an honor to attend the premiere of this film. The Solidarity Ride was a literal connector between communities - between Louisville and Freeport, between Freeport and Fifth Ward, all unique, but uniquely navigating the decades-long environmental health harms. The film was also a powerful reminder of how we can be truly united to stand up and speak out against polluters."

Solidarity Ride: Heroes Saving The Environment chronicles the heroic feats of community members who are using their will, bravery, imagination, compassion, and empathy to support community needs in the midst of enormous odds.

The film features five fascinating change-makers who refuse to give up on their communities, despite deep budget cuts and stiff opposition from multinational conglomerates.

This film centers on hope, resilience, innovation, and tenacity that are commonplace among all heroes.

TESTIMONIAL

"What I felt that was so powerful about [Solidarity Ride] was that it showed that what we are doing here in Louisiana , there are other communities facing that, too, and there is a way that we can organize and come together to make change."
